Long trip to WA State Univeristy
My sister is out in Pullman for a bit longer, so we decided to visit. Since the drive would have been boring, we used the bikes.
Intense heat on the way out.
Intense wind on the way back.
The grade down into Lewiston, ID was fun (zoom in on it below). I didn't get the chance to run it with any gusto as I was laden with luggage and it was early Monday morning (watch out for commuters and blind unfamiliar corners).
Most of the trip was good, except for the 1 performance award. After being on the road for so many miles you lose track of speed limits and just cruise at 75mph. Oops.
Pavement is great the whole trip. Take LOTS of water and stop and drink more often than you think.
Google thinks it takes 7 hours... but with gas and food we took 9 hours to get there, and then relaxed and took 13 hours to get home.
It was good to get off the bikes.
Pictures coming....

So much goodness missed through the gorge, on both sides of the river.... but that would have added an extra two days. Looks like a great trip, can't wait to see the pics

Yeah... I know there are some fantastic roads we just blew by, but we had a specific destination to get to and people to see.
One of these days I need to get back out there and do the good roads.

Did you do the spiral Highway into Lewiston? That combined with Rattlesnake grade would be a good reason to travel out there!
'Oh Shit!' is usually the moment when your plan parts ways with reality

We did do the spiral highway. It was short and we were laden with gear, so it wasn't all that quick.
Plus, found out that they frequently pull over bikes BEFORE they ride that section to 'remind' them about the 35mph limit.

It's a 35 MPH speed limit?
