We had a good session and even managed to stay dry for the most part on the ride. See you next month!

December Doc Wong Rider Skills Clinic is this Saturday 12/10 at 9am.

With the weather forecast and road conditions, we will have the discussion portion but chances are good we will not have the ride portion of the clinic. I drove part of the route tonight and Polk County has already spread quite a bit of sand on the route.

We are still doing it down here in Albany but the Portland site sort of imploded. They had the domain name so I'm doing some research to see what is going on. I was keeping the site up for us but I'm not the owner of the domain. Thanks for alerting me. I have been out on the road for work the last three weeks so I will figure out what is going on. We will definitely have a clinic in July and August and will post up more when Wiley Coyote and I figure out what is going on.

FWIW, if you're wondering about availability, I have a 3 year old's birthday party to attend on August 12th. I'm available July 8th AFAIK.

I've visited the Doc Wong NW website and plan to attend the August 12th clinic. I confess I didn't read this entire thread, but I didn't find a registration or check list; it seems pretty informal. This would be my first group things since I passed The Basics several years ago. Anything I should know, do, or bring, other than maybe some coffee and donuts?
Will I get scorned if I ride in with cut offs and a tee-shirt?
I wouldn't really, but trying to get a better feel for the course and expectations.

Doc Wong is very informal, Typically a discussion of the current months topic and then a ride to work on said topic. The shop where the clinic is held usually has donuts and coffee or water available. Just show up and bring a desire to learn and you will be good. The ride is designed to welcome riders of all skills. So come along and try it out. Hope to see you there.
Yes this group is ATGATT. All The Gear, All The Time. :D
That is all.

Wanted to check if the August 12th clinic is going to have a group ride afterward. DWNW website reads "Due to the length of the clinic, we will not have a group ride following the clinic." But there's an Albany Route listed matching the updated original post.

What will the topic be, and who all will be there..... Planning on making it down, and then out to Waldport, north on 101 to get home.

That turned into a ~400 mile ride for me and Stefka. Probably 150 of those were very WET!!! Found rain in Newport and ran for the hills in Lincoln City.
In McMinville it was raining pretty good still (some dry road on the east side of the Mts, but that changed).
There was something on the road that was bubbly like (appeared like soap)... no idea what it was. Tried avoiding it. All hot parts of the bike look like hot oil was burned to it. Comes off with windex, but not brake cleaner. Strange much.
Not a leak on the bike either... definitely spray up from the tires.

Very sore, and partial right ankle paralysis from vibration and stiff boots. Lame.
