Oregon Vintage Motorcycle Show/Weekend 5/21-22

Postby RickRick » May 15th, 2016, 9:42 pm

This is a great annual event in Corvallis at the Benton County Fairgrounds. The vintage ride is always fun. I recommend checking in... getting the map and then picking a location to ride out to. Park and watch the bikes go by. Then pick another location. Ride to it and watch them ride by again. The show on Sunday is great as well.
After walking around the display, plan to spend plenty of time in the parking lot drooling over everyone's bikes. Well worth the $5 admission!

So if I decide to show my old shovel, do I just show up with it?

You must be a member to display a bike. You can join at the show by going to the OVM membership table.

Annual membership is $15. That includes the newsletter (4-5 times/year) and participation in other OVM functions (rides, dinner, etc). Be advised that choppers are NOT eligible for display. Otherwise, the only qualifier is that the bike must be at least 25 years old. Condition does not matter. Rusty barn finds, or ridden hard and put away wet are quite acceptable.

Dougo, where did you go? After I went for coffee in Scio you disappeared and missed the best curves of the ride.

And it sprinkled on us a tiny bit, dry on windshield in less than 2 miles, it was so little. And American Dream pizza afterwords!

I will be leading again next year, so you have another chance to follow my loud Harley!

Bob

Sorry Bob, I got a text from the family, and had to cut the ride short. Disappointed for sure, w a noted pizza too...

I bet there's a few folks who would like to do that more than once a year..

I did have a little trouble with going so slow in the curves..

No problem, yeah, the pace is kinda slow, I was holding to 50 on straights. That little 50cc was hot in corner, but slow on straights. Next time!

Made it through the complete ride. Had a ball and will look forward to it next year. Pace was a bit slow, but was enjoyable and had some time to look around. Doug, it was nicemto meet you, and I wondered what happened to you. Bob, thanks for leading the ride and hope you enjoyed the coffee.

Nice to meet you too. Gotta all get together and do a nice bridesmaid. (Nice ride! That time the autocorrect was funny though). Up where we rode, every road is new to me, around every corner a new vista, beautiful little farms and towns. Need more...
