Trinity's Resurrection

Postby wileycoyote » May 31st, 2015, 2:13 pm

As many of you already know, Trinity & I had a little "push starting" incident back in November. I had gotten her up to a proper speed & while trying to toss my leg over to jump on, I didn't toss it high enough. My boot kicked the tail section & we both went for a tumble. She's got a little body rash now, but I'm no longer all that concerned about it. I also broke both mirrors & twisted up the front brake lever. After growing old of trying to fit the expense into a month where I didn't have any large expenditures, I finally broke down & bought the parts. THEN they sat on my work bench for another month or so more. Finally today, Adelyn took a long enough nap that allowed me some time in the garage with Trinity. New mirrors & levers are on. Now all I need is a new battery. I should have her ready to go for Day To Ona Beach. I'm so giddy I can hardly contain myself.

Resurection... thats kind'of a big word, right?

According to Merriam-Webster:

RESURRECTION
noun res·ur·rec·tion

a) capitalized : the rising of Christ from the dead
b) often capitalized : the rising again to life of all the human dead before the final judgment
c) the state of one risen from the dead

Mirrors and bent levers?

You now I love ya Tim.. even I understand that there is a difference between not washing your bikes and not fixing them. Get on it boy!!!

HA! Shit, this wasn't the first. It was just the worst. But yeah, it was a tough one to get over anyway.

To be fair, she's been dead since November. I couldn't start her if I wanted to (before buying a battery anyway). ;-)

And don't rain on my parade! I was just trying to find a way to show off my pretty blue levers!

You don't have to tell me. I'm already ashamed. What can I say? When time & money are tight & there's another one in the garage that's been neglected for much of the past 4.5 years, it's just so easy to put it off a while longer. Besides, it was the rainy months.

Thank you. I'm really digging it too.

Don't feel bad, Tim. I've got a BMW that I bought in November, 2013, scattered all over the shop . I've NEVER heard it run!
I've even thought about just parting it out, since it's already mostly in pieces...

Took her on a shake down ride today over lunch. I had forgotten to mention that the frame slider on the right side caved enough to bend the head slightly. The cavity containing the cam chain was pushed in just enough to create a leak around the cam chain retainer bolt. Troy down at Cycle Parts tossed a second seal in there & said that should do the trick. We rode 30 miles to run some errands & I even pulled her hair a bit out on McKenzie View. So far no leaks. She's ready to go for Day to Ona Beach on Sunday. I'm looking forward to taking her on a real ride again.

Look like CRG roll-a-click or ebay clones. I'm sure the clones work just as well, and I think there's more colors available.

They're CESs (Chinese eBay Specials).

They fit perfect & were easy to install. Best part...they were only $25 shipped from Sacramento.
