Hello to my new moto community!

Postby AnniePants » May 7th, 2019, 1:42 pm

Motofreaks, Dirtbags, Gearheads, wrenchers, Hello from a moto-loving lady rider!!

I've moved to the right town for my orange blood- Hello from Corvallis! Ann here, lover of all things two-wheeled, especially if orange and black :D

I'm jonesing so badly- a dog bite broke my left hand in March and I'm now nearly healed...This is the longest moto hiatus of my adult life (minus that winter in Bend a couple years back). I'm stoked to meet some of you at the first Wednesday's I've heard about (June is on my calendar seeing that I just missed May), and am really looking forward to some riding in the next few weeks. I should have the all clear from my doc next Wed, at least for some street riding.

What local rides/events should I have on my calendar? Where to meet new moto friends? I'm new to Corvallis, working at OSU, and stoked to make some new acquaintances :)

My garage is:
2005.5 KTM 950 Adv
2014 KTM 500exc
1997 Honda XR100r (125)
2010 Ninja 250
Ridgeline and a VW Camper if we count the moto towers :)

Hey, Annie Pants! :welcome: to Ride 44. This Friday is Eugene/Springfield Bike Night at Sonic Drive-In on Olympic in Springfield. I’ll be riding down from Dallas, stopping at Dougo’s place in Harrisburg on the way down. If you would like to join us and ride down together, meet up with me at the Corvallis Market, on the SE corner of Hwy 34 and Peoria Road around 5:00-ish. If we leave there at about 5:05, we can have an easy, relaxing ride to Harrisburg and get to Doug’s place around 5:30.

If you decide to meet up at the market, I’m easy to spot. I’ll be the fat, old guy on the baby Harley.

Hope to see you then.

Hi Dustpan, thanks for the hello :) I won't be able to take you up on your offer of meeting this Friday- my bikes are in storage until Sunday. Next one, yes please!! I'd love to do the ride down to Eug for a bike night with a rider or two. Is it a weekly meet up?

Hey, AnnieP! Too bad you can’t make it Friday. Should be a good time. No, it doesn’t happen every week. There are three Bike Nights that I know of, each one held monthly. Basic info is as follows:

Albany, held the 3rd Wednesday at Pop’s Branding Iron, 901 Pacific Bl SE, 6:00 - 9ish

Corvallis, the 1st Wednesday at American Dream Pizza, 214 SW 2nd St, 6:00 - 9ish

Eugene/Springfield, the 2nd Friday at Sonic Drive-In (summer), 2043 Olympic St, Springfield, 5:30-9:00. During the winter months, it meets next door at Abby’s Legendary Pizza.

We tried getting one going in Salem, but I think it fizzled. Maybe if someone shows some interest in one there, we can try it again.

Hope to see you at one soon. If you want to ride in together, PM, text, or call me to set up a meeting place/time.

Unfortunately I think the Eugene/Springfield Bike Night fizzled out too, though I don't know for sure. I haven't really been able to make them since the spawn came along. I haven't heard much about it in a long time. Someone please speak up if that's not true.

Welcome to Ride 44!

Been busy traveling for work but hopefully will be getting a couple group rides going in the next few weeks.
